Kansas City Tax Coffee Chat - Section 174

Effective for tax years beginning after December 31, 2021, clients with Section 174 research and experimentation (R&E) expenditures are required to capitalize and amortize such costs. On December 29, 2022, the IRS released Rev. Proc. 2023 11 with superseding guidance for taxpayers required to change their method of accounting for Section 174 costs to be compliant with the new law. Please join KPMG professionals from the AMCS and Washington National Tax practices to discuss changes to Section 174 and considerations for the upcoming tax filing season.
