Jeanne Abundis has more than nineteen years of experience serving public and private upstream, midstream, retail power & gas and oil-field services clients. Her technical accounting knowledge and knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 requirements provide valuable insights to numerous KPMG clients.

Professional and Industry Experience

With experience serving a number of large public clients, Jeanne has participated in activities such as:

  • Master Limited Partnerships and “Up-C” tax structures,
  • Significant acquisitions and business combinations,
  • Fresh start accounting upon emergence from bankruptcy,
  • Initial public offerings,
  • Debt & equity offerings, including comfort letters,
  • International transfer of intellectual property,
  • Spin off of a subsidiary, and
  • Initial adoption of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 and COSO 2013

Leadership Experience

Jeanne has served as a Training and Methodology Team member, assisting local engagement teams with accounting and audit inquiries and has moderated technical accounting panels at KPMG’s Global Energy Conference. Jeanne has participated in the KPMG’s National and Global Instructor Program, the KPMG Involve Committee activities, and has served in leadership roles such as, Houston Office Resource Management Partner, Houston Office Culture Coordination Partner Champion, the Houston Business Unit Audit Innovation Leader and the Houston Chapter of KPMG Network of Women Leader. Jeanne is also an on-campus recruiter at Texas A&M University and McNeese State University.
