John is a Managing Director in the KPMG Trade & Customs - Export Controls & Sanctions service line, based in Denver, CO. He has over 21 years of experience in U.S. and international export control regulations.
Although U.S. export controls remain John’s principal area of expertise, he’s also worked extensively with international companies based in the E.U. and Asia. An understanding of non-U.S. export control regimes, along with a keen understanding of the applicability of extraterritorial U.S. reexport controls, has enabled him to provide clients with an accurate view of their global compliance risk.
John’s recent experience includes working with the BIS Special Compliance Coordinator for a major telecommunications company, guiding clients through complex jurisdictional issues, and leading DDTC directed audits.
