Peter A. Baltmanis is a principal in the Fixed Asset Services practice based in Dallas within KPMG’s Accounting Methods and Credit Services group and leads KPMG’s National Fixed Asset Services Practice.

Peter has more than 16 years of experience providing fixed asset accounting method services, fixed asset consulting, and construction tax planning services. For the last twelve years, Peter has served clients at KPMG performing capitalization analysis, depreciation analysis, general fixed asset consulting, and construction tax planning services. He has successfully assisted with IRS pre-filing agreements for tax depreciation, assisted with revenue agent examinations, CAP audit teams, and IRS Appeals related to cost segregation and capitalization. Peter has advised on fixed asset issues with clients in all industries.  For example Led US/UK team to complete purchase price allocation and depreciation study for both US and UK tax reporting purposes for sports stadium acquisition, Advised on implementation of new tax fixed asset software system for oil field services equipment company and Advised on proper treatment of tax repairs and maintenance expenditures for national retail company in the IRS CAP audit program and provided support during the Fast Track Appeals process. 

Peter’s publications and speaking engagements include Recurring speaker at National Restaurant Association conference and Recurring speaker at various TEI chapters in the Southwest. His other activities include YMCA Soccer coach and Neighborhood HOA President.

Peter holds a B.S in Construction Science from A&M University, Texas.
