As a Partner in the Passthroughs group of the Washington National Tax practice, Ms. Belanger specializes in the federal taxation of partnerships, limited liability companies, like-kind exchanges, and involuntary conversions.
She advises clients about tax planning for like-kind exchanges, involuntary conversions, partnership and real estate transactions, and debt restructurings. She is one of the lead partners at Washington National Tax serving publicly-traded partnerships and other large investment partnerships. She is also responsible for instructing the firm’s seminars in the taxation of partnerships, like-kind exchanges, and real estate transactions.
Prior to joining Washington National Tax at KPMG, Ms. Belanger was an attorney for the Internal Revenue Service’s Office of Chief Counsel, Passthroughs and Special Industries Division. While with Chief Counsel, she authored several regulations and rulings regarding the income taxation of partnerships, S corporations, and trusts.
