Principal, State and Local Tax

Brian is a Principal in KPMG LLP’s Dallas Tax practice. He leads KPMG's State and Local (SALT) Communications Industry practice, the Dallas SALT practice, and serves as the firm’s lead tax partner and lead SALT partner on several large communications industry clients. Brian has more than 16 years of experience in providing state and local tax services, representing clients across a broad range of industries in numerous state and local tax jurisdictions. 

Brian’s primary area of client service delivery is indirect tax consulting, refund recovery and audit defense for taxes such as sales and use tax, gross receipts tax and communications taxes.

His experience encompasses many segments of the communications industry, including incumbent and competitive local exchange carriers, wireless communications companies, conference calling companies, Voice over Internet Protocol providers, Internet service providers, and satellite and cable television service providers. Brian also serves clients in industries such as media, technology, power and utility, energy, and retail.

Brian is a frequent speaker on state and local tax issues for KPMG's internal and external training programs and seminars.  He also regularly presents for the Wireless Tax Group on state and local communications tax issues.
