Tonya Christianson
Managing Director, Tax
Tonya is a Managing Director in KPMG’s New York M&A Transaction Services practices where she regularly advises private equity and strategic clients on domestic and international transactions. Tonya’s responsibilities include leading and coordinating tax structuring engagements, tax due diligence investigations, and tax modeling exercises, as well as providing technical tax advice on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and other complex corporate restructurings for fortune 500 and private equity clients.
Prior to joining KPMG, Tonya served as an Attorney-Advisor in the Office of Chief Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service’s National Office and represented the U.S. federal government in tax court cases. Tonya received her B.S. in Finance from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, her J.D. from Marquette University Law School, and her LL.M. in taxation from the Georgetown University Law Center. Tonya is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and the U.S. Tax Court.
