Managing Director

Mark Cornwell is an experienced business leader with more than 25 years of sales and marketing expertise. Through a variety of senior leadership roles, he has leveraged his marketing, advertising, sales management, and communications skills to help world-class organizations promote and build brand image, increase market penetration, and develop strategic partnership strategies.

Mark is currently a Managing Director at KPMG LLP, a global Big Four accounting and advisory firm. Based in the San Francisco office, he works directly with top management on pursuits of business targets.

Mark was previously Vice President of Business Development – Card Services Partnership Marketing Group at Washington Mutual Bank in San Francisco. His achievements include signing and implementing a co-branded credit card program with key accounts, producing over $600 million in incremental revenue to the bank, and the signing of a $3.6 billion retailer and a $250 million small business online retailer.

Previously, Mark was the Western U.S. Director of Pursuit Strategy for KPMG LLP, the global Big Four accounting and advisory firm.

Mark had a successful and progressive 15-year career at American Express, leading district teams in two of the most competitive national markets (New York and California) in strengthening card acceptance and in expanding market visibility. He developed programs growing company revenues from $8.1 to $9.6 billion over one three-year period, and was recognized for this and other achievements with numerous sales leadership and top-performance awards.

Prior to this, Mark was Senior Vice President for Bay View Capital Corporation, an $8 billion bank holding company, where he oversaw a $3.6 million budget as Head of Marketing.
