Managing Director, International Tax, Washington National Tax
David de Ruig has more than 10 years of general tax experience advising companies of varying sizes—from U.S.-based multinational companies to startups—with a particular emphasis on planning for the impact of U.S. and global tax law related to IP. He also brings extensive experience addressing cross-border M&A, including pre- and post-acquisition structuring.
David regularly advises companies on a broad array of tax issues concerning cross-border payments and financing arrangements, acquisition and divestitures, legal entity rationalization, and other cross-border activities. In addition, he has extensive experience in projects relating to tax risk assessment review of operating models, advising on tax issues relating to operating model restructuring, and coordinating large-scale multi-jurisdiction projects. Other experience includes advising clients on issues related to foreign tax credits, tax treaties, and withholding.
David has authored articles that have appeared in Taxes—The Tax Magazine, International Tax Journal, and Tax Notes. He is a frequent speaker on international tax matters.
David has a LLM degree in taxation from New York University, a JD degree from the University of Minnesota, and a BS degree from California State University, East Bay.
