David is a senior advisor within our People and Change Advisory Practice focused on developing and implementing HR strategies and strengthening the HR function.
David has over twenty years of consulting experience helping clients effectively implement strategy through people. He helps global organizations align their human capital strategy with business strategy, develop and implement HR programs that reinforce that alignment, and otherwise strengthen the effectiveness of the HR function. In particular, his work focuses on HR strategy, structure, service delivery, governance, process design, policy harmonization, and metrics. Prior to launching his consulting career, David spent ten years working in corporate finance for Bank of America.
David has assisted leading organizations in a broad range of industries including consumer products, energy, entertainment, financial services, healthcare, higher education, high-tech, logistics, telecommunications, and utilities. A sample of projects which David led and provided hands-on consulting support follows:
- Large financial services organization – over a multi-year period served as trusted advisor to executive leadership and facilitated transformation of the entire enterprise from a traditional brick-and-mortar to multi-channel, multi-product, multi-business organization. The work entailed executive succession planning and development, organization design across business units and support functions, comprehensive HR transformation, and integration planning and execution of a major acquisition
- Preeminent medical research and health care system – over a multi-year period designed and led significant HR transformation effort and provided strategic and tactical M&A integration support as the organization evolved into a comprehensive system including multiple hospitals, physician practices, stand-along urgent care clinics, and diagnostic facilities
- Global logistics and express delivery company – served as trusted business advisor to executive leadership during the restructuring of all operations and support functions across the Americas region. In addition to organization design, the work involved development and implementation of a new human capital strategy and transformation of the HR function.
- Global data analytics organization – led project to redefine the organization’s operating model and structure with particular focus on client relationship management and knowledge management (i.e., capturing, analyzing, leveraging, and monetizing data and supporting analytics). Project success was driven by focus on governance and decision rights.
- Global consumer products company – led comprehensive HR transformation involving complete functional restructuring and re-staffing, implementation of shared service centers, design and roll-out of new technologies (portal, knowledge base, etc.), global policy harmonization, global process simplification and standardization, and change management.
