National Principal-in-Charge, State and Local Tax, KPMG US

Mike is a principal and national service line leader of the KPMG State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. Over the past 25 years, Mike has advised clients on a variety of state and local tax matters including tax planning, business structuring, due diligence, acquisition and disposition planning, audit controversy, expert witness services, and income tax compliance. Mike previously served as the KPMG national leader for the Income & Franchise Tax practice, national SALT Asset Management Leader, and a major market leader for KPMG SALT’s Chicago Business Unit.

Mike has worked with clients in a variety of industries with experience serving companies in the real estate, alternative investment, and financial services sectors. He works with fund of funds, real estate investment funds, real estate investment trusts, hedge funds, private equity funds, debt funds, and other alternative investments.

Mike is a frequent speaker on state income tax matters at various KPMG seminars and has presented at national and regional industry sponsored events.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Business Administration from Michigan State University.
