Ally is a senior associate in KPMG’s Trade and Customs practice. Since joining KPMG, she has assisted clients with FTZ activation and reviews, Duty Drawback, Import Data Analysis, Post Entry Reviews, and Global Trade Automation. Prior to joining KPMG, Ally has accumulated over five years’ experience working for a global trade management (GTM) software provider focusing on leading implementations of software solutions for clients in a variety of industries. Ally works primarily with Foreign-Trade Zones, US Duty Drawback and Import Management. Her technical experience allows her to bridge the gap between technology and business and helps her assist clients in understanding how to implement end-to-end solutions to effectively manage global trade.
Professional and Industry Experience
Since starting her career, Ally has gathered a toolbox of skills which help her provide effective project management, technology automation and integration, and data analysis in all areas of trade compliance for a wide variety of industries. Ally’s experience includes:
- Assistance with feasibility, application, activation, data analysis and yearly review of Foreign Trade Zones (FTZs).
- Implementation and process improvement of Duty Drawback Programs and submission of Duty Drawback claims to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for companies across multiple industries.
- Working internally and externally to manage regulatory and system changes required for the US Duty Drawback (including reviewing customs regulations and the CBP and Trade Automated Interface Requirements (CATAIR)).
- Building reports and data analytics using technical tools to help companies automate and review necessary data, track key metrics and performance indicators, and identify cost savings opportunities and returns on investment.
- Leading GTM software implementations for large companies across the US and EU including managing transactional and data mapping workshops, driving system design, conducting system testing, training end-users, and providing support during testing and after go-live.
- Assisting companies in identifying and preparing for regulatory changes that may impact their business processes, such as Customs’ Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) updates and regulatory updates (ex. Section 301 and 232 updates).
