Craig Ellis has 33 years of experience with KPMG in providing income tax advisory and compliance services to publicly and privately held consumer products, technology, media and entertainment, manufacturing, transportation, and distribution businesses, with an emphasis on working with executive management, audit committees, and key shareholders to assist them in meeting their tax objectives.
Craig is also responsible for working with multinational organizations to help structure their business operations in a tax-efficient manner, assisting them in reducing the effective tax rate and minimizing cash tax liabilities. Craig has advised clients on many matters, including mergers and acquisitions, initial and secondary public offerings and private equity and debt offerings, financial statement restatements related to accounting for income taxes, research credit studies, incentive negotiations, representation before taxing authorities, multi-state and cross-border tax planning, and complex accounting for income tax (under both US GAAP and IFRS), and SOX 404 issues.
Craig received a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting from the University of South Florida and a masters of science degree in tax accounting from the University of Alabama. He is a certified public accountant in Florida and California. Craig is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
