Garrett Hahn is a Managing Director in the Washington National Tax - Tax Controversy & Dispute Resolution Services (TCDR) practice of KPMP LLP. Garrett has experience assisting KPMG clients with their IRS tax controversies, including IRS examinations, private letter and 9100 rulings, penalty abatement issues, compliance remediation, analysis and evaluation of technical issues, and IRS Appeals. Garrett’s clients include mid-market and large corporations, investment funds and individual executives. He handles controversies at all levels of the IRS, including representing clients at the examination and appeals levels, using both traditional resolution methods and various IRS alternative dispute resolution techniques. He also represents both foreign and domestic taxpayers on a wide range of technical and procedural issues. Garrett is a contributing author to the PLI Practice & Procedure Deskbook and a frequent Tax Executives Institute speaker. Garrett received his B.A. degree from Purdue University, his J.D. from Chicago Kent School of Law, and LL.M. degree in Taxation from Northwestern University College of Law.
