Sean joined KPMG’s Economic and Valuation Services practice in July of 2009 where he specialized in transfer pricing and business valuation. In June 2014, Sean transferred to the Market Development practice, where he focuses on brand and relationship development with KPMG’s Premier clients headquartered in the Greater Philadelphia market.
At KPMG, Sean has organized and executed numerous market development initiatives and events in the Philadelphia community, aligning KPMG with its premiere chemicals clients. Sean helps develop pursuit opportunities internally, to ensure clients are receiving the best-in-class services and expertise of the firm. He utilizes his active involvement with local area boards and organizations to make deeper connections with KPMG and the surrounding business community.
At KPMG, Sean has completed numerous transfer pricing planning and documentation projects in compliance with Internal Revenue Code section 6662 and §482 of the Treasury Regulations to determine arm’s-length compensation for tangible/intangible property and services.
He has provided transfer pricing planning and documentation for one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical manufacturers and dozens of its affiliates around the world. Sean has performed intellectual property restructuring studies involving the transfer of pharmaceutical intellectual property throughout all phases of clinical development among affiliates in different countries.
As part of his cost allocation work, Sean has allocated head office expenses of over USD 2 billion of a diversified technology and manufacturing company among its nearly 700 legal entities.
At KPMG, Sean has worked on a variety of different clients, with a wide range of specialty work. This work includes the valuation of trade names and trademarks, customer relationships, software and developed technology, favorable and unfavorable contracts, and other similar financial products for mergers and acquisitions, corporate planning, financial reporting, and international tax compliance. Sean has worked on client service engagements in various industries including pharmaceuticals, aerospace and defense, energy, and financial services. He has worked on engagements for a variety of purposes, including: tax planning and compliance, ASC 805 (SFAS 141R), IFRS 3, ASC 350 (SFAS 142), IAS 36 and ASC 718 (SFAS 123R).
