Josh Hennessey

Josh Hennessey is a partner with KPMG LLP’s Houston office. He is part of the State and Local Tax practice and specializes in the areas of property tax and sales and transaction tax. He has over fifteen years of experience in state income, property, sales and transactions tax, providing a broad array of advisory services, including consulting for large scale restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, research memoranda, tax refund reviews, audit mitigation, managed audits, Sarbanes Oxley reviews, voluntary disclosures, property tax compliance, taxability studies, ruling requests, and due diligence reviews. Josh is the leader of the KPMG National Property Tax Compliance Center, a primary state tax resource for Texas, and is the primary property tax resource for the southwest region.

Josh has experience in many industries including manufacturing, transportation, chemicals, oil and gas, and healthcare. He is a frequent speaker and teacher on sales and use tax issues.

Josh has a BBA degree in accounting from Texas A&M University, a MS degree in finance from Texas A&M University, and he is a CPA in the state of Texas.
