Tal Kaissar

Tal Kaissar is a Partner in KPMG’s Financial Services Tax Practice and leads the business strategy for the National Insurance Tax Practice. Tal has more than 20 years of tax experience in both public accounting and leading financial services firms. Prior to joining KPMG, Tal was Global Head of Tax at AIG.  Prior to AIG, Tal served as the Co-Head of Global Tax Accounting at Citigroup and prior to Citigroup, he was with Ernst & Young in New York.

Tal has extensive experience in taxation of financial service companies, particularly insurance companies, M&A, corporate restructuring and development of global tax operating model that challenges every aspect of way of working.  He also focuses on identifying and developing talent; the next generation of tax leaders.

Tal led a globally integrated, functionally aligned, tax department that focused on delivering value to customers through tax expertise in global tax strategy, global tax reporting and analysis and business specialty tax. He led the AIG’s tax department through the financial crisis, including playing a key role in developing the transactions that successfully set the company to exit from government ownership. Tal was instrumental in providing insight to the Board of Directors and certain committees of the Board with respect to transactions, tax risk matters and tax legislation.

Tal holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the School of Business at Rutgers University.
