David Kaplan

Dave is an audit partner in the Real Estate and Construction practice, in the New York office of KPMG LLP and also serves as the Asset Management Practice Leader for the New York audit practice. Dave specializes in performing audits as well as due diligence on proposed transactions and providing consultation on accounting matters. Dave also has experience with fair value accounting and IFRS. Dave is one of the firm’s IFRS quality review partners and is the Asset Management Lead for IFRS in the U.S. Dave’s clients include real estate owners and operators, real estate funds, REITs, developers, general contractors, investment advisors and real estate separate accounts of pension funds.

Professional and Industry Experience 

Dave’s responsibilities have included supervision of large multi-location audit engagements of general contractors and real estate funds. Dave currently serves as the global lead partner on one of the largest global real estate fund sponsors and one of the largest global construction companies in the world. In addition to audit and attest services, Dave has provided transaction due diligence assistance on acquisitions. Dave has also assisted startup real estate funds in developing processes and infrastructure prior to their raising capital and has performed internal audit and risk assessments for real estate companies.
