Background

Jonathan has been in practice, in the area of international taxation since 1997 and joined KPMG in 2001 from another Big 4 accounting firm.

Professional and industry experience

Jonathan advises U.S. and non-U.S. companies on various matters related to U.S. international taxation and cross border mergers and acquisitions. 

In addition, Jonathan is responsible for a broad range of multi-national clients spanning multiple industries, and has extensive experience with a wide range of complex international tax and transfer pricing matters relating to his client’s businesses.

Jonathan has also advised clients with respect to complex cross-border transactions and a broad range of international tax and transfer pricing planning issues. For example:

  • Advised clients in the electronic commerce space regarding international expansion and the US and local country income and withholding tax impacts of digital distribution of content (music, videos, data).
  • Advised numerous clients with respect to the tax-efficient structuring of their global supply chain and intellectual property.
  • Advised U.S. multi-national clients in connection with subpart F planning, effective tax rate reduction, foreign tax credit planning, and U.S. and foreign legal entity structure optimization.
  • Advised foreign corporations on tax matters stemming from their investment and/or expansion in the U.S.
  • Advised on a global tax risk assessment analysis for telecommunications companies (local country direct and indirect taxes).
