Joachim is KPMG’s global IFRS insurance leader. In this role, he is responsible for leading the development of KPMG’s guidance on accounting for insurance companies. Joachim currently leads KPMG in Germany’s Department of Professional Practice for Insurance, having been a partner of KPMG in Germany since 1999. He has also been a key participant in several European Commission studies on these matters and is member of the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group’s (EFRAG) Insurance Accounting Working Group. Joachim is also a lecturer at the University of Cologne on accounting for insurance companies, and has given many speeches and written numerous articles on the subject.
