Michael Kraehnke

Michael is a Partner in our Department of Professional Practice – Audit (DPP). He develops US firm policies, guidance, training, publications and other materials on US GAAP and IFRS accounting and financial reporting matters. He also consults with engagement teams on complex accounting and SEC matters and presents technical training through webcasts and live conferences for internal and external audiences.

His client experience ranges from single location development stage entities to large multinationals including significant experience in international operations. He has served various industries primarily focusing on technology and telecommunications, manufacturing, and consumer products. Michael has substantial experience with ongoing periodic reporting for publicly traded clients, and mergers and acquisitions. He is a designated SEC Reviewing Partner, a select group of audit partners noted for attaining our highest level of technical competence. Michael is also one of the firm’s IFRS Reviewing Partners and is the National IFRS Practice Industry Leader for Technology, Media, Consumer Products, Life Sciences and Pharmaceuticals.

Michael was a Practice Fellow at the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) in London, UK (2008-2010). During his tenure at the IASB, Michael led various standard-setting projects, performed outreach activities on behalf of the IASB (and FASB) and addressed a wide range of IFRS implementation issues. Additionally, Michael was Chairman of the Colorado State Board of Accountancy (2016-2020).
