Charity is an Audit partner in the KPMG Los Angeles office where she focuses on serving large Consumer Markets and Retail companies. Charity also serves as our Pacific Southwest Consumer Markets and Retail Leader in which she leads a cross-functional team of industry focused professionals. She is closely linked to our National Consumer Markets and Retail network.
Professional and industry experience
Charity has eighteen years of experience working with large public and private international consumer markets and retail companies under both US GAAP and IFRS. She has a deep understanding of common challenges, opportunities, strategies and structures facing consumer markets and retail companies. Her clients have included The Cheesecake Factory, Nestle, PepsiCo, Forever 21, Deckers Outdoor Corporation, The Wonderful Company, Gelson’s Markets, Technicolor, Reliance Steel and Aluminum, and Konami Digital Entertainment.
Charity has extensive experience with technical accounting, financial reporting and disclosure matters affecting companies in the industries she serves, including revenue recognition, derivatives and hedging, asset impairment, acquisition accounting and variable interest entities. She has advised clients on a variety of transactions, including business combinations, divestitures, offerings and IPOs. Most recently she acted as a technical advisor for the Kennedy Wilson and Petco IPOs.
Charity also has an in-depth understanding of the current requirements for attesting to and opining on internal control over financial reporting (ICOFR). She is a part of our Audit Methodology and Training network in which she acts as a resource not only to her team, but to other engagement teams as well.
