Murilo Mello

Murilo Mello is dedicated to helping clients increase Brazil-U.S. and Latin America corridors business opportunities. Murilo works with domestic and foreign clients providing advice on cross-border and domestic issues, indirect tax, and customs impacts on supply chain and tax planning projects.
Since 1996, Murilo has focused on tax advisory services, tax planning, and restructuring opportunities involving corporate and supply chain aspects. Murilo joined KPMG in Brazil in 2004 and became partner in 2009.
In September 2005, Murilo worked on the Ibero-American desk for KPMG in Madrid, Spain, focusing on developing opportunities for investments in the Latin America region and acting as a center of excellence for Brazilian and Latin American tax-customs issues.
Murilo is a frequent speaker on Brazilian tax matters for a variety of groups in Brazil and abroad such as the Brazilian Bar Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Swiss Academy & Finance Institute, and Fundação Dom Cabral. He also is a visiting professor at the Brazilian Institute of Tax Law studies (Instituto Brasileiro de Direito Tributario). In addition, he has contributed to a variety of publications including articles at the International Tax Review and has co-authoreded Brazilian specialized books.
Murilo is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association since 1996 and holds a Tax degree from the Universidade de São Paulo as well as an LLM degree from Queen Mary University of London.
