Carlos A. Molina is a tax partner in KPMG’s San Juan office. He has more than 18 years of experience providing Puerto Rico tax services, including indirect taxes, in the areas of tax planning, tax controversy services, tax compliance, and due diligence.
In his role as a tax partner, Carlos is responsible for the delivery of Puerto Rico and U.S. federal tax services to numerous clients. These services include, among others, tax compliance, tax planning, assistance with governmental agencies audits, and assistance with the structuring, and tax due diligence pertaining to merges and acquisitions. He also has extensive experience in the preparation and review of tax accruals following the provisions of FAS109 and FIN48. Carlos devotes most of his time to financial services clients particularly banking and insurance and working in mergers and acquisitions engagements and assisting clients with consumption taxes issues.
Carlos is a frequent speaker and panelist on seminars related with Puerto Rico tax legislation and FIN48. He has also published articles related to Puerto Rico taxes.
Carlos holds a BBA degree from the University of Puerto Rico and a JD degree from the University of Puerto Rico. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
