Nikola Ognjanovic is a Web3 innovation focused Senior Associate at KPMG US with more than 4 years of experience with Web3 and blockchain technologies. Nik has extensive experience in the NFT space and is currently a part of the firm’s Web3 and Metaverse Center of Excellence with focus on NFTs and Metaverse research & development, while also helping with strategy and shaping the firm’s Web3 CoE and broader community. Coming from a technology and data background, Nik excels at bridging the gap between technology and business. He has successfully led several innovation-focused technology builds, playing a key role in determining market and business needs, research, ideation, design and architecture, tech implementation, and developing go-to-market strategy.

Prior to focusing on NFTs and Metaverse, Nik was a core member of the firm’s Tax Blockchain team that focused on research and development around enterprise-focused permissioned/private blockchain platforms and solutions. During this time, he helped expand the firm’s intellectual property portfolio as an inventor on two patented smart contract design patterns (with a third one currently being filed).

Nik joined the firm in July 2017 as an Associate in New York’s Tax Ignition group where he has experience with design and implementation of innovative data technology solutions for KPMG’s clients and internal tax teams. Nik has strong experience with data storage solutions (databases, data warehouses, data lakes with SQL and NoSQL), full-stack development, data modeling, data analytics and visualizations, ETL processes and workflows, data governance, machine learning, cloud infrastructure and services, security and IT controls, and quality assurance. He also has experience with design thinking methodologies and facilitating workshops with clients and internal stakeholders. His current and past clients include some of the leading entities in financial services and pharmaceutical industries.

Nik holds a BBA degree in computer information systems and mathematics from Baruch College.
