Background
Rebecca is an Associate Partner and Head of the Trade & Customs team for KPMG in the UK. She leads a team of professionals based in London, Reading, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow. Rebecca delivers cross-border solutions to the issues facing the firm’s clients, working closely with other tax and supply chain colleagues, and our global network of customs and excise specialists.
Rebecca has over 15 years’ experience in Trade & Customs. She started her career at HMRC where she was involved in the review of customs procedures and the documentary audit control of major importers, including those in the engineering and manufacturing industry.
Rebecca specialises in optimising the customs duty position of companies involved in international trade. More recently she has been focused on helping clients plan for Brexit, by optimising their customs systems, processes and restructuring supply chains.
Professional and Industry Experience
- KPMG Customs Retail Lead - assisting businesses with complex tax planning within their international supply chain restructuring models, assessing the most optimal customs valuation position in line with transfer pricing.
- The design, blueprint and build of customs warehousing solutions in the retail industry. Rebecca is experienced at managing retail projects with multiple work streams, including classic customs advisory and system implementation oversight.
- Customs system migration and duty optimisation in relation to the Global Automotive Industry. Rebecca spent 15 months at a Global Automotive manufacturer assisting in the design and build of a global duty saving and process implementation in a number of customs jurisdictions around the world.
- Practical experience in the application and implementation of CFSP, customs warehousing, inward and outward processing and duty management system (DMS) procedures. Experience in the preparation and application of Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status across industry sectors.
