Michelle Quest

Michelle Quest is the head of the KPMG U.K.–U.S. Corridor practice with the United Kingdom and is currently seconded to KPMG in the United States, based in Washington, DC. She advises U.S. multinational groups on a broad range of tax matters and leads the tax relationship with some of the most significant KPMG corporate clients, advising on tax governance, process and reporting; international business and operating models; transfer pricing; and mergers and acquisitions activity.

Originally qualified in Audit, Michelle transferred to Tax in 1993, specializing in corporate tax. Starting in 2001, she specialized in providing tax advice on corporate transactions, reorganizations, and reconstructions. She was part of the KPMG Private Equity team in the United Kingdom from 2003 to 2009 leading the tax advisory and due diligence assignments on the acquisitions and disposals of several private equity institutions. During that time, she led both the U.K. Private Equity Tax practice and the KPMG M&A Tax practice in the United Kingdom and the region including Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Michelle led the U.K. firm’s Tax & Legal practices from 2016 to 2020. Michelle sat on Global Tax Steering Group, helping make decisions globally for clients.
