His focus has been on strategic business improvement engagements including: business strategy development, commercial real estate, retail banking, consumer and mortgage lending, regulatory impact analysis, payment strategy, branch optimization, customer experience management, channel optimization, cost management, merger integration, financial management, management reporting and decision support systems.

Professional and Industry Experience

Highlights:

  • Led the indirect lending market strategy development for one of the largest Canadian and US indirect auto lenders. The team conducted a broad market scan (offerings & pricing), dealer interviews and scenario modeling to design multiple roadmaps for migrating the current strategy. As a result, the client regained market share and restructured their lending business to better align with the corporate growth goals and risk profile.
  • Led the development of an enterprise-wide financial management strategy of a Top 20 Bank. The strategy addressed the organizational, process and technology designs required to move from a decentralized operating model to a shared service model. As a result, over $90M in operational efficiencies was identified. Each of the initiatives were prioritized and sequenced in a detailed implementation roadmap.
  • Led the design, financial justification, PMO setup and implementation of a new Target Operating Model for the Retail Division of RBC. The new TOM established the scalability and flexibility for the client to begin new acquisitions and grow organic revenue by 15%. Led a comprehensive revenue improvement initiative within the consumer bank of a top 10 US bank.
  • Led the research, modeling and design of a new consumer banking product strategy at a top 10 US bank. Customer segmentation models were developed to identify new products for strategic customer clusters within the existing customer base. The strategy included new payment product designs, detailed financial analysis, channel delivery models and risk assessments.
  • Led the development, financial justification and implementation of a comprehensive retail banking strategy for the largest US retail bank. The strategy included: Customer Segmentation, New Product Development, Branch of the Future Design, Channel Optimization, Transaction Right-Channeling, Transaction Migration, Kiosk Utilization and Service-to-Sales Execution.
  • Led the credit card re-entry strategy design and implementation planning for a US Super Regional Bank. The project established the product offerings, financial models and operational structures required to re-enter the US credit card market.
  • Designed and implemented a new profitability system for the consumer bank of a Top 10 bank. The profitability system included the calculation of Customer Life Time Value, Marginal Profitability and Fully-Load Profitability. Each calculation was used to assist with different decision making including acquisition, servicing and retention.
