Philipp Reer is a seconded partner for the German International Tax team for KPMG LLP and heads of the German Tax Center. Before that, he was assigned to the International Tax team in Düsseldorf for KPMG in Germany . He has more than 12 years of experience in working with multinational clients, specializing in international taxation and cross-border mergers and acquisitions.

Philipp closely advises large multinational enterprises on complex international restructuring and cross-border transactions and also helps small and mid-sized enterprises to enter the German market effectively. His international focus lies especially on German inbound/ U.S. outbound investments, and he supports tax planning, prepares official statements preparation, and assists with tax audit defense.

Philipp has significant experience on carve-out projects for large multinationals; structuring of cross-border transactions and investments; financing structures and IP planning; and cash access planning (cash repatriation). He has supported various company transactions, including M&A, IPO, structuring, tax modelling, due diligence, and joint ventures. He also has analyzed and helped improve his clients' financial position through advising on internal restructuring measures and managed multijurisdictional M&A and international corporate tax projects.

Philipp is a member of the KPMG U.S. Inbound Tax Working Group. He is also a member of the Working Group Law & Standard Contracts of the mixed economic committee of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. He holds a degree in finance (Diplom-Finanzwirt) and is a German Chartered Tax Advisor (Steuerberater).
