Fred Rica is a Principal in KPMG’s Advisory Services practice. Mr. Rica is a skilled technology professional with significant experience in helping Fortune 500 companies manage and improve the risk, security, performance, effectiveness and efficiency of their IT security infrastructures. Mr. Rica has significant of experience in IT security, governance and risk management and is a nationally recognized authority on the subject of information security and has performed or managed hundreds of security assessment, design and implementation projects of large and complex processing environments over the last twenty five years.
Mr. Rica has also been a frequent speaker and author on the subject of data security. Mr Rica has spoken at manyprestigious conferences and events such as The Blackhat Briefings and RSA. Mr. Rica also served as Chairman of Web Defense and Co-Chairman of then-President Clinton’s Critical Infrastructure Assurance Office New York Summit. Mr. Rica was recently a panellist for the CIO Magazine Internet Security Forum and gave the opening remarks at the ITAA e-Security and Homeland Defence Conference.
Mr. Rica is a much sought after commentator on the topic of risk management. Mr. Rica has been a regular contributor to several CNN shows and has been a guest on Fox's “The O’Reilly Factor” and CNBC's “Power Lunch” among others. Mr. Rica was also featured in “Hack Attack”, a Discovery Channel special on computer hacking.
In 2002 Mr. Rica was selected by Crain’s New York Business as one of their “40 Under 40” rising stars of New York business under the age of forty.
