Ricardo A. Ruiz

Ricardo Ruiz is a tax professional with 19 years of experience at Big Four firms. He joined KPMG in December 2019 as a direct entry partner.
Ricardo has extensive experience in many areas within taxation, including business strategy advice, planning, compliance, due diligence, and structuring. His experience includes domestic and international tax advice to legal entities and individuals, large companies investing overseas (listed companies and multi-Latinas), multinational enterprise investing in Colombia, and large institutional investors investing through the portfolio regime.
He is a former chair of the International Fiscal Association Colombian branch and a member of its board of directors. He is the head of the International Tax Program offered by the Colombian Tax Institute (Instituto Colombiano de Derecho Tributario).
Ricardo holds a law degree from the University Externado de Colombia, an LLM degree in international taxation from the University of Florida, and Law specialist degrees in financial and stock markets as well as energy, oil & gas, and mining, both from the University Externado de Colombia.
