Industries

Helping clients meet their business challenges begins with an in-depth understanding of the industries in which they work. That’s why KPMG LLP established its industry-driven structure. In fact, KPMG LLP was the first of the Big Four firms to organize itself along the same industry lines as clients.

Edwige Sacco is a Principal in KPMG’s Advisory Practice. Based in Boston, Edwige joined KPMG in 2004 and is responsible for advising clients globally on financial crimes compliance matters involving anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, economic sanctions, and consumer fraud (including elder abuse). Her client base includes domestic and global banking institutions, credit unions, money service businesses, asset management and trust companies, government sponsored enterprises, and technology companies.

Edwige specializes in both reactive and proactive efforts to assess, design, implement, audit, validate, and strategically transform financial crimes compliance controls and programs across all three lines of defense.

She also serves as a Senior People Management Leader (SPML) for KPMG Financial Crimes professionals nationally, where she is responsible for overseeing and implementing strategic initiatives around people development, performance assessments, and career growth.

Edwige has co-chaired Boston’s KPMG Network of Women (KNOW) for over 3 years, and during this time, she has co-led various initiatives and programs that help connect KPMG women to women in the marketplace and position them for market development opportunities, foster mentoring relationships, advance women in their professional and personal endeavors, and provide various forums for women to share experiences.

Edwige currently serves on the Boston Partners in Education (BPE) Board of Directors, a nonprofit organization that enhances the academic achievement and personal growth of Boston’s public school students by providing them with focused, individualized, in-school volunteer support.

Edwige began her financial services career over 15 years ago in the embassy banking division of a bank based in Washington, D.C. In this role she was responsible for implementing Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) / Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies and procedures, including Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Know Your Customer (KYC) controls, for foreign Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs).

In 2018, Edwige was named on the Boston Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 list for her contributions to the Massachusetts market, industries and communities.
