Marcos Salganicoff is a Director in KPMG’s AI, Analytics and Data Engineering Practice with more than 20 years of experience in the Healthcare & Life Science Sectors (HCLS). He has delivered strategy and solutions that help leading HCLS enterprises improve quality, productivity and profitability using Machine Learning, AI, Big Data, and Advanced Data Visualization.

He brings a unique perspective that comes from solving problems across the continuum of Healthcare Providers, Patients, Payers, Life Science Manufacturers, and Regulators and understanding the interactions between them. Macros has extensive experience in developing innovative strategies and solutions that enable Clients to address complex industry challenges within the unique QMS, regulatory and compliance constraints of the HCLS sector.

Engagement experience

  • Supported a leading global medical diagnostics manufacturer in development of a comprehensive enterprise AI-enabled product strategy and roadmap.
  • Worked with a leading medical device manufacturer develop a proof-of-concept complaint management risk prediction system to support intelligent complaint workflow prioritization and improve compliance to complaint reporting regulations.
  • Helped a large regional Healthcare system implement a cloud-based cost compliance and transaction risk-analytics monitoring solution for a multi-year $100M+ capital expansion.
  • Assisted a leading NCI-designated Cancer Center in demonstrating therapeutic quality and economic advantages to payers though value-driven total-cost-of-care claims analytics.
  • Supported one of the US's largest regional Healthcare provider system in the development of data and analytics enterprise target operating model for improved analytical application impact, user satisfaction, and solution development efficiency.
  • Helped a leading national US Healthcare system analyze the performance of their patient scheduling processes and to develop integrated operational scorecards to drive improved provider utilization and reduced appointment delays.

Selected Experience Prior to joining KPMG

For a major international Imaging Diagnostics company:

  • Lead business-case development and product management of an Azure-based integrated operational and quality improvement analytics suite for Interventional Cardiology Equipment, Suites, and Service Lines.
  • Led the development of Machine Learning-based scanner imaging algorithms for the automatic labeling and measurement of orthopedic landmarks (ribs/vertebra/knee), and Computer-Aided Detection (CAD) of disease in CT and MRI images.
  • Supported CAD Software-as-a-medical-device FDA premarket approvals, 510(k) clearances and obtaining device EU CE Marks along with the regulatory team.
  • Represented the company as president of a cross-industry consortium of medical imaging manufacturers to coordinate industry response to FDA guidance for CAD and foster standardized CAD development validation data sets, ground truth and tools.

As Senior Director of Software & Algorithms development for an Iris Recognition Biometrics startup, he worked closely with several leading global strategy partners in the Financial Services and Banking Technology developing algorithms, products and scalable platforms for high-accuracy, vision-based personal identification.
