Frank Sangster
Principal, Indirect Tax
Frank Sangster is a principal in KPMG’s Indirect Tax practice and is the national head of the group specializing in value added taxes and similar international sales taxes. He has advised many multinational clients and is familiar with the indirect tax regime (mainly VAT, customs and insurance taxes across the European Union, ASPAC and LATAM). He is used to working on global projects and has demonstrated the focus and determination to ensure that such projects are delivered successfully.
Frank has more than 27 years of experience in international indirect tax and has been with KPMG since 1991. Prior to joining our U.S. KPMG practice, he served as a partner in KPMG’s U.K. practice serving large financial, corporate and infrastructure clients. His experience includes working with many U.S. companies as they have operated and expanded across Europe. He has thus advised on supply chain issues, VAT registration requirements and how to maximize cash flow benefits while also reducing the risk of VAT being a real cost in the supply chain.
Frank is the only U.S.-based VAT advisor to be recognized by the International Tax Advisor as a leader in this area in both 2012 and 2013. He was also recognized by the U.K.’s leading accountancy publication – Accountancy Age – as among the top 50 most influential people in the finance and accounting area in 2010.
He received his BSC in economics and politics from Southampton University, has spoken at numerous KPMG-sponsored and client-sponsored events, and has presented to the OECD and to the G20 finance ministers.
