Cristina Sansonetti joined KPMG in 2020 from one of the largest law firms in Central America. With more than 15 years of experience, Cristina has extensive experience in providing tax counsel to Costa Rican and multinational companies in the areas of tax planning, tax diagnosis, and tax structuring for the purchase, investment, and reorganization of companies and equity within the Central American market.

Her experience includes advising important Costa Rican and multinational companies located in Costa Rica and in other Central American countries on tax matters and equity restructuring as well as on merger and acquisition processes. She has been the lead tax adviser in multiple corporate purchases and sale transactions, including multijurisdictional transactions. 

Cristina is considered one of the most recommended tax advisers in Costa Rica by Chambers Global and is a frequent tax columnist for the digital newspaper El Observador and a periodic columnist for Delfino. She has spoken at Latin America Regional Meetings of the International Fiscal Association and and has served as a tax law professor Lead University in Costa Rica.

Cristina is a member of the Costa Rica Bar Association, the International Fiscal Association, the Vance Center Women in the Profession program and a local non-profit association (Asociacion para el Liderazgo y Ascenso Social Alas) that promotes gender equality.

Cristina holds a law degree, a master of computing and law (ecommerce) degree, and a master of legal business consultancy (with emphasis in tax law) degree.
