Tim Sarson
Partner, Value Chain Management
Tim Sarson advises clients on the implementation of centralized and tax-efficient operating models for multinational companies, referred to as Value Chain Management (VCM). Tim leads the VCM practice for KPMG in the United Kingdom as well as the U.K. firm's response to Brexit. He is also a member of the firm's core team responding to the OECD BEPS initiative.
Tim has worked in the field of international tax for 22 years. Over the past decade, he has focused on transfer pricing, IP planning, and operating model restructuring—developing a coordinated tax, commercial, and operational approach to transformation projects. He has particular experience in geography and location issues, helping companies to adapt to changes in tax, labor, trading flows, and geopolitics across the global business landscape. Currently, Tim is advising a number of clients on the impacts of Brexit, working with a wide range of KPMG specialists in supply chain, regulation, customs, immigration, legal services, and political intelligence.
Tim features regularly in U.K. and European media, including BBC world news, the Today Programme, Financial Times, Bloomberg, Die Welt, and the main U.K. daily newspapers, on Brexit and tax topics. He has authored a number of recent articles in industry journals, including Tax Adviser, International Tax Review, Irish Tax Review, and Economia and has a monthly international tax column in Tax Journal. He lectures regularly at Cranfield School of Management.
