Nicholas Schmidt is a member of the Information Strategy and Governance pillar of KPMG's Cyber Risk practice. He regularly assesses large and complex companies for compliance with a variety of national and international privacy laws and is frequently consulted for his expertise by companies looking to make improvements to their programs. He also regularly conducts the privacy compliance of corporate transaction targets. Internally, he regularly contributes to KPMG's thought leadership efforts and co-leads the US firm's international coordination work with other privacy practices in the western hemisphere.
A licensed attorney and former IAPP fellow, with pre-law school experience as a software engineer, Nick has substantial technology experience and has worked with a variety of paradigms, including agile development, software as a service, the internet of things, and data mining.
