David Schneider is a Tax Partner in KPMG’s Federal Tax Practice in Chicago and the Healthcare Industry Leader for Tax in the Chicago Metro business unit. He also serves as the leader of the business unit’s Accounting Methods and Credit Services (AMCS) group. He focuses on delivering federal income tax consultative services, primarily on accounting method, inventory and research & experimental tax issues.
David has over 22 years combined industry and public accounting experience. His broad-based pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturer experience encompasses federal tax issues confronting manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers. Areas of David’s expertise within federal income taxation include the Medical Device Excise Tax, capitalization, revenue & expense recognition, fixed assets, inventory, research & experimental credits, domestic manufacturing deduction, meals & entertainment, and transaction costs. He specializes in identifying, managing and implementing strategic tax planning solutions and processes for significant clients of the firm. David regularly participates in roundtable discussions with KPMG’s national accounting methods & inventory group and is used frequently throughout the firm as a technical resource on federal income tax issues.
