Michael Sena

Michael is a principal with KPMG LLP's U.S. Indirect Tax practice with more than 20 years of experience in indirect tax automation and process analysis as well as application development and data analysis for the KPMG Transaction Tax Systems group and Tax Ignition Center, a technology innovation lab for KPMG's tax practice.
Michael is currently the leader for KPMG OnDemand Indirect Tax Service, a cloud-based indirect tax engine determination service. In addition, he is a solutions development and integration specialist for Transaction Tax Systems, where he coordinates and assists in the production and maintenance of various solutions and data analysis tools for both clients and for internal use by KPMG. Michael is certified for ONESOURCE Indirect Tax Engine implementations and serves as the national liaison between the KPMG State and Local Tax practice and the Tax Ignition Center.
Michael has extensive experience in the technical design, development, and implementation of indirect tax automation and data warehousing/analysis solutions, along with planning, implementation, and maintenance of compliance data platforms. He has spent the last 18 years developing solutions to automate and bridge processes within sales tax compliance for many corporations with complex tax issues including oil and gas, hospitality, and telecommunications. He has been involved in numerous integrations of sales, use, and value-added tax software with ERP and eCommerce systems.
