Managing Director, Corporate, Washington National Tax
Andrew D. Simmons advises clients and KPMG professionals on domestic and cross-border corporate tax matters, including mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, and other corporate restructurings. Andrew provides tax advice at all stages of transactions, from initial considerations and evaluation to post-closing integration. He supports clients with, among other things, general tax consulting, structuring, review of complex corporate transactions, review of tax aspects of legal agreements, and tax opinions.
Andrew regularly partners with local offices as part of the KPMG Complex Transactions Group, assisting KPMG partners in transforming the scope, scale, and complexity of services provided to clients. Prior to joining the Corporate group, Andrew was a member of the International M&S group in the Washington National Tax practice.
Andrew has co-authored several articles that have been published by The Tax Adviser, Tax Analysts, and Practising Law Institute. He also frequently speaks at external tax seminars and KPMG training programs.
Andrew has an LLM degree in taxation from New York University and a JD degree (cum laude) and a BA degree from Boston College.
