Shane Sims has 30 years of experience spanning the fields of forensic investigations (cybercrime and fraud), national security (counterintelligence and counterterrorism), securing trade secrets, technology innovation, & building defenses against cyber and insider threats. His professional focus is helping organizations in all industries reduce the risk of cybercrime and espionage, detect and disrupt or deceive active threats to business and consumer information, and develop strategies to improve protection of them. An element of Shane’s work leverages concepts from his government counterintelligence experience to design special strategies and operations to combat theft of trade secrets and acts of espionage.

Prior to KPMG, Shane was a Principal at PwC where he led the US Cybercrime Response Services business and was the Cyber Security Services leader for the Washington DC Metro market helping private sector organizations in all industries.
Shane previously served his country as a Special Agent and Supervisory Special Agent at the FBI where he led teams which investigated cybercrime, acts of terrorism, and economic espionage. He is also a veteran of the 9/11 response and many other domestic and international critical incidents. He finished his career in the Critical Incident Response Group as leader for a counterterrorism mission and developed inter-agency national security response plans for the White House including counterterrorism strategies in support of presidential elections.
