Philip Smith

Philip Smith is the Global and National Audit Leader for Industrial Manufacturing. He has served as the lead audit partner on a number of Fortune 1000 accounts in the retail, consumer products, distribution and manufacturing industries. In his role as lead audit partner, he has been involved in providing a wide range of services to clients including due diligence, SEC reporting, forensics, and internal control advice. This includes working with a significant number of global industrial and consumer products companies during his career. Philip has deep experience working with international teams serving US registrants. He also has extensive experience in dealing with complex accounting issues related to revenue recognition, purchase accounting, and inventory costing.

Philip has also worked with a number of other companies providing assistance related to internal audit, Sarbanes–Oxley Section 404 compliance, advisory and technical accounting advice, including assistance with the adoption of IFRS.

With the KPMG Board Leadership Center and Audit Committee Institute, Philip has been active in education and training in the area of corporate governance and audit committee effectiveness.

He is a board member and audit committee chair for the Columbus Urban League and president of the New Albany Community Improvement Corporation. Philip is an NACD Board Leadership Fellow and a member of both AICPA and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants.
