Professional and industry experience
- Steve’s primary area of technical accounting focus is revenue recognition. He has in-depth experience assisting companies in the application of US GAAP to multiple element arrangements and long-term contracts.
- Leads KPMG’s revenue recognition accounting change practice, which is focused on assisting companies with implementing new revenue recognition guidance and policies.
- Advises clients on US GAAP technical accounting matters, with a focus on revenue recognition, software development costs, business combinations, stock-based compensation, impairments and restructurings.
- Assists clients with accounting and other financial reporting matters that arise in connection with transactions and offerings, including:
- Preparation of carve-out financial statements and related SEC filings as part of divestitures;
- Financial reporting for acquisitions and assistance with related SEC filings;
- Due diligence on accounting and financial reporting matters;
- Preparation of restated financial statements;
- Conversion of IFRS financial statements of acquired foreign entities to US GAAP; and
- IPO readiness.
