Shawn Torkelson

Shawn Torkelson is the Director of Marketing for KPMG’s New England & Upstate New York region. Based in Boston, Shawn has two decades of experience leading marketing and business development teams in regional, national, and global B2B professional service firms.
In his role at KPMG, Shawn leads a team of marketing professionals responsible for ideating and activating marketing initiatives across all lines of business, including Advisory, Tax, and Audit. Leveraging revenue & marketing analytics to inform KPMG’s regional marketing strategy, his team is focused on consistently uncovering new and creative ways to enhance KPMG's brand eminence and client connectivity across the New England region through field, social, and digital marketing channels.
Shawn's areas of expertise cover all elements of revenue creation: Demand Generation, Field / Social / Content / Digital Marketing, Business Development, Account Management, Sales & Marketing Analytics, and Revenue Operations.
Shawn is KPMG's primary local point-of-contact for KPMG's national partnership with Boston-based startup accelerator, MassChallenge, and frequently acts as a mentor/advisor to technology-based startups in the MassChallenge program. He also serves on the Advisory Board and Marketing & Communications Committee of the non-profit, Design Museum Foundation, located in Boston.
Shawn holds his Bachelor's degree in Marketing from Concordia University in Minnesota.
