Peter Torrente

Peter is the U.S. Sector Leader for the Banking & Capital Markets practice and in this capacity leads the firm’s cross-functional growth strategy for the sector. With over 30 years of experience in banking and capital markets, Peter has worked with some of the largest domestic and international financial services companies. Through this work, he helps bank boards and executive management teams garner strategic insights to improve business performance, deliver new opportunities for growth, and enhance value.

Professional and industry experience.

Peter has extensive experience leading large, complex audits and has served as the U.S. Sector Leader for Banking & Capital Markets since 2020. He is also a member of the KPMG Global financial services and banking and capital markets leadership teams. During his tenure with KPMG, Peter spent five years living and working in Europe serving large global banks and is now based in the KPMG New York Office. 

Peter regularly speaks at key industry events, hosts the quarterly National Banking Symposium and Quarterly Outlook where he shares his views on bank earnings, regulatory trends, transformation, and innovation. He is passionate about driving innovation and transformation in the banking industry, and committed to helping our clients succeed in an ever-changing landscape.
