Brett Weaver is the partner in charge of the KPMG global Value Chain Management (VCM) practice and a member of KPMG Global Tax Policy Steering Committee. 

Brett brings value to clients by delivering VCM services that enable businesses to transform their tax operating model and supply chain design. He helps companies turn disruptions—geopolitical influences, regulatory developments, customer demands, competition, acquisitions, and other forces—into competitive advantage. In this area, Brett has experience helping clients reduce the cost to deliver products and services, as well as create new sources of cash flow. As tax and finance costs can be as high as 35 percent of total cost, the impact of VCM at Brett's clients has been significant.

Brett also assists clients in developing of their tax policy strategy and engaging directly with policymakers around the globe. He authors KPMG public positions on many aspects of global policy proposals and represents the firm in public consultations. He has worked closely with clients and policymakers on the development of rules addressing the tax challenges of the digital economy and rules aimed at increasing tax compliance.

Brett  serves as lead tax adviser for several large U.S.-based multinationals—consulting on business model expansion, tax planning, internal and external reorganizations, and global compliance and financial reporting.  His experience extends to managing complex global projects across aspects of physical and digital supply/value chain management, people mobility, and treasury functions.  Given the nature of his practice, Brett has extensive experience with, and immediate access to, the KPMG International global network, including leading professionals, technology tools, and methodologies.

Brett has written and spoken extensively on digital economy tax policy and various other global tax issues. He is a frequent speaker at regional and national Tax Executives Institute conferences, NYU/KPMG Lecture Series, Pacific Rim Tax Institute, various business forums, and KPMG-sponsored events. Brett also serves as Adjunct Professor at University of Washington’s School of Law LLM Program.

Brett is a certified public accountant in Washington and a member of the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Brett holds a Masters of Taxation degree and a BA degree from Weber State University.
