Landon Westerlund

Landon is a partner and an SEC Reviewing Partner in KPMG’s Department of Professional Practice (DPP), where he consults on technical accounting matters and assists in developing the Firm’s views and guidance in areas including leases, real estate, long-lived assets, consolidations, and contingencies.
In 2000, Landon joined DPP after servicing real estate audit clients in Los Angeles for 10 years. Landon spent eight years in DPP focused on technical accounting issues and standard-setting activities, including completing a two-year term as a Practice Fellow at the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). Landon also held a separate fellowship in 2007 at the Financial Accounting Foundation, the parent organization of the FASB.
In 2008, Landon joined KPMG’s Financial Services practice in New York specializing in real estate and alternative investments. In 2016, Landon rejoined DPP
Landon is a board member of XBRL US and a member of the advisory council for the SEC and Financial Reporting Institute at the University of Southern California (USC).
Landon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from USC. He is a licensed certified public accountant in New York and California.
