Angelos leads KPMG’s Trade & Customs Practice. He joined KPMG in 1999, after spending ten years with the former Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (CCRA) as a Customs and Trade Administration Officer.
Professional and Industry Experience:
Angelos advises clients regarding import and export requirements, conducts compliance and cost recovery reviews, and approaches customs authorities on behalf of clients to resolve customs and trade issues.
His areas of expertise include tariff classification, import and export controls, valuation, and origin of goods imported into or exported from Canada and the United States. In addition, Angelos has developed strategies to reduce costs and limit risks relating to non-compliance with customs requirements. In terms of market segment, he has significant experience in the areas of consumer markets, specifically apparel. Angelos also has significant experience in the transportation, oil and gas, machinery and electronic products industries. In the energy sector, he has successfully represented clients by minimizing the impact of customs duties and streamlining import processes. He also has experience in approaching the Department of Finance with respect to obtaining duty relief for various clients.
Angelos has provided customs compliance and advisory services to clients in various industry sectors including consumer markets, mining, forestry, shipping, oil and gas, power generation, communications, and manufacturing.
