COVID-19 has introduced a new business paradigm for the Alternative Investments community. A significant challenge for many business leaders involves building or maintaining relationships –- a difficult feat in our new virtual world.
It’s a challenge Jim Suglia, National Practice Leader for Alternative Investments, understands. Where he once spent a third of the year on the road, traveling to and from clients’ offices, he has suddenly found himself – like many business leaders –working from home and meeting with clients remotely. This has prompted him to consider the universal qualities that are key to building any client relationship. Whether meeting face-to-face or via virtual conferencing platforms, he says, “You have to understand your clients' business. You have to be a great listener and listen closely to what their needs are. And you have to create thought leadership that’s spot on in addressing those needs. Most of all, you must always deliver on your commitments and your promises.”
