Maximizing Appian’s Government Acquisition Management Solutions

Learn how KPMG can help maximize the value of your Appian GAM Solutions investment with KPMG technology and AI innovations

Addressing federal agencies’ acquisition challenges

Federal agencies are often limited by outdated, siloed, or nonexistent technology to manage their procurement processes, which can often lead to a number of significant risks:

  • Disorganization and wasted resources
  • Delivery delays of critical goods and services
  • Lack of collaboration among contracting organizations and customers/requirement owners.

Appian’s Government Acquisition Management Solutions Suite enables federal agencies to standardize the acquisitions and procurement lifecycle process and support flexible collaboration across the entire acquisition lifecycle.

Maximizing value through KPMG technology and AI innovations

KPMG is a proud recipient of the Appian Acquisition Accreditation based on our in-depth knowledge in both general acquisition management and Appian Government Acquisition solutions and continued teaming with and commitment to the government acquisitions community. KPMG can help federal agencies maximize the value of their Appian Government Acquisition Management Solutions investment through the following innovations:

  • Artificial intelligence (AI)-based capabilities, including machine learning (ML), process mining, and natural language processing. AI enhancements with KPMG can help automate manual parts of the acquisition lifecycle as well as analyze data from multiple sources, identify patterns and trends, and provide insights to support an optimized procurement process. For example, AI can conduct contract compliance by analyzing vendor responses in the Vendor Management application.
  • Improved user experience, making it easier for agencies to manage the acquisition process. For example, the suite can automatically assign acquisition teams, track acquisition completion against timelines, and provide direct support via help mode. The KPMG enhancement also features a personalized notifications hub that helps users stay up to date on important procurement-related activities.
  • Procurement spend optimization. The suite proactively aligns pertinent and focused procurement information. For example, other direct costs submitted in the Vendor Management application can be imported and analyzed against current software license spend tracked within the Award Management, which can proactively identify new or existing enterprise license agreements and optimize information technology (IT) procurement spend.
  • Streamlined vendor risk assessment by including an automated and easy-to-use risk management portal designed to support business users and requesters throughout the vendor risk assessment process. The KPMG enhancement helps agencies streamline the vendor risk assessment process, helping ensure that vendors are thoroughly vetted, and risk is appropriately managed.
  • Modern data visualizations to empower application data beyond native Appian reporting. The KPMG enhancement includes the ability to easily integrate application data with data visualization software such as Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, and Qlik to enhance mission-critical reporting and dashboard capabilities. This allows agencies to generate in-depth dynamic reports and visualizations, providing greater insight into procurement-related activities.
  • Robotic process automation (RPA) and process mining capabilities that natively interact with the solution’s interface to automate tasks without the need for application programming interfaces or custom integrations. These enhancements can provide data-linked recommendations and optimize procurement workflows, thereby reducing the risk of errors and delays.
